Two more Man Of The Year nominations came in, and many apologies for not getting to them sooner like I said I would…  The first one is David Tabbert, and here is Alex’s explanation:

The genius title of this Tumblr casts its photos in a light that I want to shine on my man of the year. 

Dads are sexy because they have something besides themselves to look after. Narcissism is the least appealing trait of gay men, as our culture defines us. A Dad, however, is inherently responsible for another person’s well-being. That’s hot.

As boys with sexual desires coalescing around the male body, we looked first to — and at — our Dads for understanding. Alas, they were straight, or worse — repressive. They mostly couldn’t help us. 

I’ve never seen David Tabbert naked, nor is he a father. He’s also almost a decade younger than I am. But his capacity for understanding, caring, and teaching matches what the best Dads have to offer. To me, that’s the heart of David’s sexiness.

Here are some useful things I’ve learned by observing David:

• If you are nice to people, they will like you
• The secret to getting hot guys to fuck you is to embrace your size and shape
• How to throw oneself a birthday party that’s truly memorable for the people invited (twice)
• If you’re gonna stick it out in Manhattan, having a car to get to the good parties in furthest Brooklyn makes the experience a heap more pleasant
• There is an H&M open 24 hours a day at some mall in Queens
• I will in fact want to take down the Facebook posts that don’t reach a critical mass of likes/comments

David’s wisdom is hard earned. He’s lucky to have learned some important lessons so young. With a rare generosity of spirit, he shares his knowledge through companionship and example. David Tabbert is my man of the year.
